BVI Catamaran Charter

All-inclusive crewed sailing charters in the British Virgin Islands — protected waters, short sails between islands, and a new anchorage every day.

Why Charter a Crewed Catamaran in the BVI?

The British Virgin Islands are the most popular crewed yacht charter destination in the world. Sixty-plus islands scattered across calm, protected waters — most just a short sail from each other. You wake up at one anchorage, sail 30 minutes, and you're somewhere completely different by lunch.

On an all-inclusive BVI catamaran charter, your captain knows every anchorage, every hidden cove, and every beach bar worth stopping at. Your chef picks up fresh lobster from the fishermen in Anegada. Your steward has cocktails ready by the time the hook sets. The BVI was built for crewed sailing charters.

Whether it's your first BVI charter or your tenth, the islands deliver. The sailing is easy, the scenery is staggering, and the infrastructure — mooring fields, customs, provisioning — is set up specifically for yacht charters. Nowhere else comes close.

What Makes a BVI Crewed Charter Special

Short Sails, More Time on the Water

Most sails in the BVI are 30 minutes to an hour. That means less time underway and more time swimming, snorkeling, and exploring. You'll hit multiple islands in a single day without ever feeling rushed.

World-Class Anchorages

From the calm waters of North Sound to the dramatic boulders at The Baths, the BVI has dozens of protected anchorages. Your captain will tailor each day's plan based on wind, weather, and what your group wants to do.

Legendary Beach Bars

Soggy Dollar, Foxy's, Cooper Island Beach Club, Willy T — the BVI has more iconic beach bars per square mile than anywhere in the Caribbean. Swim ashore, grab a Painkiller, and see why everyone comes back.

Incredible Snorkeling & Diving

The Indians, the caves at Norman Island, the RMS Rhone wreck — the BVI is home to some of the best snorkeling and dive sites in the Caribbean. Your crew will have gear ready and know exactly where to go.

Sample BVI Crewed Charter Itinerary

Every BVI catamaran charter is fully customized, but here's a taste of what a week looks like. Your captain will adjust based on weather, your preferences, and the spots that are best on any given day.

Day 1 — Arrive & Board in Tortola

Meet your crew at the marina, settle into your catamaran, and enjoy a welcome lunch on board. Afternoon sail to Norman Island for a sunset cocktail and your first night at anchor.

Day 2 — The Baths & Virgin Gorda

Sail to Virgin Gorda and explore The Baths — massive granite boulders forming hidden grottoes and tidal pools. Afternoon at Spring Bay Beach, then motor up to North Sound for the evening.

Day 3 — North Sound

A full day in North Sound. Visit Saba Rock for tarpon feeding, paddleboard to Prickly Pear Island, or just float all day. Dinner at the Bitter End or on board under the stars.

Day 4 — Downwind Sailing & Hidden Gems

Sail downwind through the islands. Stop at Guana Island's White Bay for a secluded beach, explore Muskmelon Bay's marine life, and anchor in a quiet cove for the night.

Day 5 — Anegada

Sail to Anegada, the BVI's flat coral island. Your chef picks up fresh lobster from the fishermen. Spend the afternoon on one of the most beautiful, empty beaches in the Caribbean.

Day 6 — Jost Van Dyke

Sail to Jost Van Dyke for the famous beach bars of White Bay — Soggy Dollar, Hendo's Hideout, Seddy's. Hike to the Bubbly Pool. End the day at Great Harbour.

Day 7 — Norman Island & The Indians

Morning snorkel at The Indians — one of the BVI's top snorkeling spots. Afternoon at the Caves for more underwater exploration. Your last full day at anchor.

When to Charter in the BVI

Peak Season (Dec–Apr)

The best months for a BVI catamaran charter — and one of the big reasons the BVI is the world's most popular charter destination. The trade winds blow consistently out of the east at 15–20 knots, humidity is low, and rain is rare. Unlike the Bahamas, the BVI doesn't get cold fronts sweeping through in winter — just steady, reliable sailing conditions day after day. Christmas and New Year's book 12+ months out. February through April is the sweet spot: same perfect weather, better availability.

Shoulder Season (May–Jun, Nov)

Fewer boats on the water, lower charter rates, and the weather is still excellent. Water temps are warmer, winds are lighter, and you'll have anchorages to yourself. November is especially good — peak conditions at shoulder pricing.

Summer (Jul–Oct)

Hurricane season. Most crewed yachts leave the BVI during these months. If you're flexible and willing to monitor weather, some yachts remain available at the lowest rates of the year — but it's not for everyone.

BVI Catamaran Charter Pricing

All-inclusive crewed catamaran charters in the BVI start around $25,000 per week for up to 6 guests and around $30,000 for up to 8 guests. That rate covers your yacht, crew, all meals and drinks, fuel, and water toys. Christmas and New Year's charters run 15–20% higher and book 12+ months in advance.
